DURTEQ™ Lumber Replacements
A molded replacement for dimensional lumber, made from the DURTEQ bio-composite matrix rather than treated wood or tropical hardwood.
2×4 structural lumber replacement
The corporate material platform includes a 2×4 profile for framing. It is molded, not milled from a tree, and it is meant for sites where rot, termites, and repeated painting are the problem the owner is trying to leave behind.
Where it is used
- Framing. Residential and light commercial frames, once the specification is accepted for that use
- Agricultural structures. Barns, sheds, and livestock housing that share the same molded profile
- Outdoor structures. Signage frames, pavilions, and deck substructures
The material
This part is molded from the DURTEQ material platform: invasive pelagic sargassum, MYCOSARG™ mycelium, recycled thermoplastics, and geopolymer chemistry. The same matrix is pressed into sheets and molded into lumber profiles, panels, shells, and furniture. Platform figures for size, density, water absorption, flexural strength, and fire performance are published on the products page. A project still needs the specification, and the approval, for that formulation and that jurisdiction.
A limited lifetime warranty is available with a supply agreement. The coverage schedule is part of that agreement, not a promise published in place of it.
