DURTEQ™ Modular Transit Shelters

Bus stops and transit shelters molded from the bio-composite platform for coastal cities and other high-humidity sites.

Platform application

Bus stops and transit shelters

Municipal shelters are an assembly of the facade panels, the roof sheet, and the bench. They are intended for coastal weather, driving rain, and sites where a painted steel shelter becomes a maintenance account.

Where it is used

  • Transit. Bus stops and rail-platform shelters
  • Civic. Park shelters that use the same panel and bench
  • What is engineered per city. Wind, foundations, glazing, and the electrical kit

The material

This part is molded from the DURTEQ material platform: invasive pelagic sargassum, MYCOSARG™ mycelium, recycled thermoplastics, and geopolymer chemistry. The same matrix is pressed into sheets and molded into lumber profiles, panels, shells, and furniture. Platform figures for size, density, water absorption, flexural strength, and fire performance are published on the products page. A project still needs the specification, and the approval, for that formulation and that jurisdiction.

A limited lifetime warranty is available with a supply agreement. The coverage schedule is part of that agreement, not a promise published in place of it.

Related uses

Benches are outdoor furniture. Panels are composite siding.
